DST initiates marketing activities focused on the on-ground and intrastate markets. In some cases industry will be asked to contribute co-operatively towards the marketing of our region, and on other occasions DST will conduct singular activities to achieve these broad objectives. Individual opportunities will be presented on a case-by-case basis throughout each year, although the focus will be to allow operators to plan their annual marketing spend by presenting as many options as possible together. DST is committed to living the Tasmanian tourism brand and will assist operators to access the benefits of “Go behind the scenery” wherever possible.

DST is committed to providing opportunities for members to improve their business and profitability. Networking functions, research and educational forums, training programs, speakers and regional board meetings all provide different ways in which our members can engage with our organisation and each other.
DST will work closely with all levels of Government to ensure that regulatory issues affecting tourism-related businesses are understood and solutions to problems are pro-actively sought. Where other industries influence the quality of tourism outcomes we will work with peak bodies and business to ensure they understand our issues. In general, we will pursue an agenda of encouraging the sensible, sensitive development of quality tourism experiences and products throughout our region.
