Hobart and Beyond is on Show with National Travel Program

Southern Tasmania is on show this week as filming for the popular national travel program Postcards takes in some of our latest regional hot spots.

“Lifestyle programs such as Postcards provide a wonderful medium to show Australians what we have in our backyard in an engaging way and to motivate them to visit,” said Destination Southern Tasmania CEO Melinda Anderson.

“We are excited to have the opportunity to showcase some of Hobart and Beyond’s newest experiences including Hadley’s High Tea, the Glass House Restaurant, Library House and Brooke Street Pier.

Other icon experiences to be featured include Mona, Gourmania tours, Salamanca Market, Islington Hotel, Agrarian Kitchen, Tasmania Museum and Art Gallery, Cascades Female Factory and the Henry Jones Art Hotel.

Ms Anderson said the program will provide a taste of what is on offer in southern Tasmania and will support Tourism Tasmania’s current national spring marketing campaign.

“Postcards airs nationally but has a large Melbourne viewership which is our primary target market for interstate visitors,” said Ms Anderson.

The Postcards crew, headed up by media personality Rebecca Judd, has been filming in Hobart and beyond since Thursday 20 August and will conclude filming on Thursday 27 August. The episode is expected to air 13 September in Victoria.
