DST is focused on growing tourism visitation, increasing yield and regional dispersal.
Incorporating 11 local government partners, industry membership and a partnership with Tourism Tasmania and the Department of State Growth.
Our region features some of Tasmania’s great icons, as well as many of the hidden treasures and bespoke experiences that allow visitors to recharge, reconnect and ‘come down for air’. It’s our job to help tourism businesses deliver the best possible experience and to help visitors unearth those treasures.
Positive Impact Tourism
Destination Southern Tasmania is here to make a positive difference to the industry in which we serve and the community in which we operate.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) or Positive Impact in tourism can be defined as a guiding business policy whereby tourism companies integrate social and environmental values in their own business mission, strategies and operations as well as in their interaction with their stakeholders.
