PAINT THE TOWN RED 2025
Destination Southern Tasmania invites local businesses to light up red from 1–21 June 2025 to celebrate and enhance Dark Mofo 2025.
We’re asking businesses to Paint the Town Red! By which we mean go red, use red bulbs, red lanterns, red decorations or whatever red stuff you please. Red menus, drinks, cakes, raspberry frogs on the pillows, let your imagination run red….

What is Paint the Town Red?

Industry registrations close Friday 9th May 2025 for inclusion on the Dark Mofo website. Registrations received after this date will continue to be included on the Paint The Town Red Map.

Paint the Town Red 2025 Photography Competition
As part of Paint the Town Red, we’re inviting the public to capture the festival magic and share their best red moments for a chance to win great prizes!
From 1–21 June 2025, visitors will be snapping photos of participating businesses, glowing red landmarks, and Dark Mofo-inspired displays. They’ll enter by posting on Instagram with #pttr25 and tagging @hobartandbeyond.
By lighting up your business, you’ll not only create an unforgettable atmosphere but also increase your chances of being featured and shared across social media. The more eye-catching your display, the more engagement it will attract!

Registrations received prior to Wednesday the 7th May 2025 will be listed on the Dark Mofo website, and the PTTR25 Map. Registrations received after this date will only be listed on the PTTR25 Map.
