A renewed focus on place and people
For 2026, A Taste of the Huon returns to its roots, placing a strong emphasis on regional authenticity, local performers and producers, and accessible tasting experiences. Festival-goers can expect more Huon, Channel and Bruny Island stallholders, hero dishes built around local ingredients, and an expanded entertainment program that showcases Tasmanian artists alongside national acts.
More than 70 stallholders will present the best of the region’s produce, complemented by live music, children’s entertainment and relaxed spaces to eat, sip and spend time together over two days.
A festival with deep roots
Established in 1992, A Taste of the Huon is one of Southern Tasmania’s longest-running outdoor festivals. Proudly organised by a dedicated volunteer committee, the event has grown from a small local showcase into a much-loved annual gathering that celebrates the people, produce and creativity of the Huon Valley and D’Entrecasteaux Channel region.
Following strong feedback from the 2025 festival, the 2026 event introduces a refreshed format while staying true to the heritage and community spirit that has defined A Taste of the Huon for more than three decades.
Still a place where locals and visitors come together to share good food, good music and good company, A Taste of the Huon remains a genuine celebration of southern Tasmania at its best.
