- A Taste of the Huon Returns This March
One of Southern Tasmania’s most loved regional food festivals, A Taste of the Huon, returns to the Huon Valley on the 8th and 9th March 2026 for a vibrant long weekend celebrating the region’s produce, people and creativity.
8th and 9th March 2026
Run as a community not for profit event, A Taste of the Huon continues to evolve, with 2026 introducing a refreshed format and an even stronger focus on local growers, makers and performers from the Huon, Channel and Bruny regions. More than 70 stallholders will showcase the best of the south, from paddock to plate, orchard to glass.
New this year is the Signature Dish, inviting stallholders to hero local ingredients in a showcase of regional flavour and imagination. Also debuting is The Garden, a relaxed performance space designed for families and friends to settle in with a picnic rug and enjoy acoustic sets in a laid back setting.
Sunday 8 March
Sunday opens with the powerful energy of Taiko Drum, followed by a full day of live performances including Zinnia Blue, Kate Meehan Band, Montz Matsumo and Voicestrings, the Royal Australian Navy Band, Rebecca + James, Southside Steppers and Andrew Swift.
The official Welcome to Country will be delivered at 10.00am by Amanda Pearn from Nearipah Dreaming.
At 1.30pm, the Best Stallholders will be announced, judged by respected Tasmanian food and event advocates including Roger Oates, Catherine Brys and David Brereton.
The Sunday headline act at 3.00pm is Golden Guitar Award winning country singer songwriter Andrew Swift.
Monday 9 March
Monday features a Farmers Market from 10.00am to 2.00pm, giving visitors the chance to purchase fresh local produce and handmade goods directly from growers and artisans.
Live music continues across two stages with The Stranded Whalers, The Dirty Red Bandannas, Wahbash Ave, Lou Bradley, 120Ys, WolfeFolk, The Southern Edge and Mental As Anything.
The Monday headline performance at 3.00pm will see ARIA Hall of Fame members Reg Mombassa and Peter O’Doherty take to the stage with their reformed band.
Across the two days, festivalgoers can enjoy 16 live acts, a dedicated kids’ zone known as The Apple Patch, and a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the heart of the Huon Valley.
Supported by volunteers, local businesses and government partners, A Taste of the Huon remains a celebration of community and collaboration, and a standout event on Southern Tasmania’s autumn calendar.
