The 29th annual Clarence Jazz Festival, proudly presented by Clarence City Council, is set to dazzle Nipaluna/Hobart’s Eastern Shore once again in 2025 with four unforgettable days of music, art, and the best of Clarence’s local food and beverages from Thursday 20 February – Sunday 23 February 2025.
With more interstate and international acts than ever before, the program is brimming with live performances, art installations, delicious local food and drinks, and activities for all ages—perfect for the whole family.
Clarence City Council Mayor Brendan Blomeley said the 2025 Clarence Jazz Festival continues to build on its legacy, offering an ever more accessible, exciting, and sustainable event.
“The Clarence Jazz Festival is huge highlight of our annual events calendar and a beloved event for our Clarence community, the Greater Hobart Region, and visitors alike,” Mayor Blomeley said.

“Year after year, the Clarence Jazz Festival continues to evolve, offering more to discover and enjoy. From exciting new programs to enhanced accessibility and sustainable initiatives, we’re committed to ensuring this festival remains fresh, vibrant, and reflective of our community’s spirit. It’s this constant innovation that keeps audiences coming back and helps us welcome new faces to experience the magic of this festival.” Mayor Blomeley said.
Music lovers will be spoilt for choice with 48 performances across day and night, as well as ticketed and free events. This year’s program features everything from traditional jazz to experimental sounds, offering something for every music fan. The 2025 Jazz Scholars—Orlaith Badger, Xavier Stanford, Jamie Walton, and Ruben Beretta-Grande—will also showcase their talent alongside seasoned performers.
Alongside Tasmania’s finest musicians, the festival is featuring a host of renowned artists from across Australia and around the globe, including the 2025 Clarence Jazz Festival Ambassador, Kristin Berardi. All the way from Switzerland, this internationally acclaimed jazz vocalist will headline a series of special performances and workshops throughout the festival, as well as pop-up appearances with a number of local acts.

The festival also welcomes its 2025 Commissioned Artist, Aleks Crossan, whose vibrant, multidisciplinary work forms the visual identity of this year’s event, including its posters and on-stage backdrops.
Debuted last year to rave reviews, the Festival Hub is back as the bustling home of the festival. Nestled within the Rosny Farm Arts Centre and the expansive Rosny Parklands, festival-goers can access the hub easily by bus, bike, ferry, foot, or car, and immerse themselves in a quintessentially festival ‘village’ experience.
Mayor Blomeley also emphasised the festival’s commitment to spotlighting local producers and businesses:
“The Clarence Jazz Festival is not just about music—it’s also about celebrating our incredible local produce. From gourmet food stalls to the best wine from Clarence’s world-renowned Coal Valley Region, there’s a feast for every taste. And with reusable Clarence Jazz Festival cups, it’s a sustainable way to toast the festival.” “Whether you’re a hardcore jazz fan or simply looking for a great day out, the 2025 festival promises something for everyone!”
The Clarence Jazz Festival will also feature food vans, stalls, and plenty of free kids’ activities and play areas. The full festival lineup and program drops early January 2025 at clarenceartsandevents.net, with early-bird tickets and special releases invites coming soon.
