Crowne Plaza Hobart has officially launched Centurion Sky, a striking new event space featuring a glass ceiling, panoramic views, and retractable bi-fold doors. The addition expands the hotel’s collection to eight versatile indoor and outdoor venues, offering spaces for everything from intimate gatherings to large-scale celebrations.
The venue was unveiled on 28 August 2025 at a launch event attended by more than 100 VIP guests. The evening featured a champagne wall in partnership with Taittinger, Tasmanian oysters served fresh to order, and hot Aperol Spritz cocktails from the hotel’s pop-up caravan. Guests also enjoyed a ribbon-cutting ceremony, live harpist performance, and DJ entertainment.
The name Centurion Sky was chosen through a social media competition that attracted over 120 unique suggestions, highlighting the community’s engagement with this new chapter for the hotel.
Centurion Sky adds a modern, elevated option to the hotel’s existing venues, which include AURA Event Space, Pandani, Huon, and Centurion 1, 2, and 3.
“Centurion Sky, with its unrivalled views of kunanyi / Mount Wellington, is the all-weather space that Hobart has been craving. I cannot think of a more perfect venue to showcase the very best of Tasmanian hospitality,” said Scott Schaefer, General Manager, Crowne Plaza Hobart.
With its contemporary design and breathtaking outlook, Centurion Sky sets a new benchmark for event spaces in Hobart—offering a premium choice for business functions, private celebrations, and everything in between.
