SSV (formerly Southern Sea Ventures), a leader in sea kayaking adventures for over 30 years, has unveiled two unique paddling experiences for 2025, highlighting Tasmania’s natural beauty, cultural heritage, and renowned culinary scene.
These limited-capacity tours promise unforgettable adventures on the Tasman Peninsula and Bruny Island.
Paddle the Three Capes with World-Record Holder Bonnie Hancock
From 29 January to 2 February 2025, SSV’s popular Three Capes Paddle will feature a special guest: world-record kayaker Bonnie Hancock. Famous for her record-breaking circumnavigation of Australia by kayak, Hancock will offer participants a rare opportunity to paddle alongside her while also sharing her inspiring journey.
The four-day adventure explores the Tasman Peninsula’s breathtaking sea cliffs, hidden beaches, and vibrant wildlife. Guests will enjoy a private screening of Hancock’s documentary, Diamond of the Sea, followed by a Q&A session. Evenings will be spent in eco-lodge accommodations, with fresh, locally sourced meals providing the perfect end to action-packed days.
This unique experience is open to paddlers of all skill levels, offering a mix of adventure, relaxation, and inspiration.
Gourmet Bruny Island Paddle with Fat Pig Farm Feast
From 13 to 17 April 2025, SSV combines kayaking with a taste of Tasmania’s celebrated food culture on a 5-day Bruny Island expedition. This special departure features an exclusive evening feast hosted by Matthew Evans and Sadie Chesterman of the famed Fat Pig Farm, known for their commitment to sustainable and regenerative farming.
Participants will paddle through Bruny Island’s pristine waters, discovering sea caves, lagoons, and secluded beaches. Comfortable lodges and locally inspired meals will keep guests fuelled for the journey, culminating in the highlight: a farm-to-table feast on 16 April. This experience celebrates the best of Tasmania’s culinary and natural heritage.
