The Huon Valley Studio Art Trail returns for its fifth year this October, providing an opportunity to delve into the creative world of local artists and makers.
Running from October 26-27, between 10 am and 4 pm each day, the event offers a unique chance to visit artists in their studios throughout the picturesque Huon Valley. According to Destination Southern Tasmania CEO Alex Heroys, the trail presents “an exciting and diverse collection of artworks,” allowing visitors to “hear about the creative process and discover the inspirations behind the works.”
The two-day event not only showcases the vibrant arts community of the valley but also encourages visitors to explore everything the region has to offer. From art and crafts to local tourist attractions, food, beverages, and accommodation options catering to a variety of budgets, there’s something for everyone.
New this year is a collaborative initiative that supports both artists and local businesses. With a nominal purchase from participating artists, galleries, museums, or registered accommodations, visitors will receive food and beverage discount vouchers, redeemable at local establishments.

Harvest and Light in Geeveston will host an exclusive exhibition, Choosing a Wine by its Cover, launching on 26th October during the Huon Valley Studio Art Trail weekend. The exhibition showcases the personal artworks of artists who have designed wine labels, offering a unique blend of art and winemaking. Featured artists include Tom O’Hern, Fabien Fery, and Tom Davidson, each presenting distinct styles that reflect their label designs and creative stories. The event runs for a month, allowing visitors to explore the artworks, taste the wines, and purchase both the art and the bottles that feature it.
