New Agritourism Experience Launches on the Tasman Peninsula

A bold and boutique new agritourism experience has officially launched on Tasmania’s spectacular Tasman Peninsula, offering visitors a rare behind-the-scenes taste of one of the island’s most productive and picturesque regions.

DineAlley Tours, created and operated by local guide and passionate farmer advocate Simon Holloway, is more than just a food tour – it’s a personalised immersion into the stories, landscapes and flavours of the Dunalley region.

Designed exclusively for solo travellers and couples, DineAlley offers intimate, strictly small-group experiences (1–4 guests only). Each itinerary takes in up to seven handpicked locations, with a strong focus on local producers and private-access farms that are not open to the public – a rare and privileged opportunity for curious and conscious travellers.

“Growing up on a farm myself, I’ve always believed that farm tours and agritourism can be a force for good – for our farmers, our environment, and our communities,” says Simon Holloway, founder of DineAlley. “What we’re offering isn’t just a tasting experience – it’s connection, immersion and storytelling.”

Every DineAlley destination is accessed via dirt roads, winding through Southern Tasmania’s ‘golden alley’ – a quiet yet fertile corridor home to some of the state’s finest produce, scenery and people. Guests are invited into the real working lives of local farmers, winemakers and artisans who produce goods for Tasmania’s most celebrated venues.

Highlights include:

  • A goat dairy where guests join the herd and taste freshly made curds and creams.
  • A coastal cow dairy producing the milk behind some of Tassie’s best-known brands.
  • Award-winning vineyards with rare varietals, immersive tastings and coastal vistas.
  • A working oyster farm where ‘Tassie Golds’ are shucked straight from the water.
  • A potato distillery crafting rare vodkas and infused spirits from soil to bottle.
  • A fifth-generation sheep and wine estate serving up exceptional food and views.
  • Optional stops at the historic Dunalley Canal for a local beer and maritime yarn.

The tours run daily, departing Hobart at 8:00am or Dunalley at 8:45am, and conclude around 3:00pm. Each experience includes generous tastings, exclusive access to producers, and a gourmet lunch at one of the region’s top vineyards.

Importantly, this is not a tour bus experience. There are no crowds, no retail stops, and no set scripts – just honest encounters, unfiltered stories, and some of Australia’s finest produce shared directly from the source.

To extend the experience, DineAlley Tours also partners with boutique accommodation provider St Martin’s of Tasmania, offering special “Stay & Play” packages for those wanting to linger a little longer in this soulful corner of the state.

A Boost for Local Agritourism and Regional Tasmania

DineAlley Tours is a shining example of the powerful role agritourism can play in strengthening regional economies. By connecting visitors directly with primary producers, the tour supports sustainable tourism, adds value to farm-based businesses, and fosters a deeper appreciation of Tasmania’s agricultural heritage.
