The Tasmanian Wine Festival returns in February 2026, celebrating the state’s diverse wine regions alongside local food and live music.
Across the weekend of Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 February, the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens will once again provide the backdrop for this relaxed summer gathering.
Over three sessions, guests can explore more than 250 wines from more than 45 vineyards and wineries. Returning favourites such as Josef Chromy, Derwent Estate, Clover Hill, Pooley Wines, Bangor, and Small Island Wines will appear alongside new participants including House of Arras, Puddleduck, Atom Wines, Richmond Park Estate, and L’appel Wines. Together, they showcase the depth and character of Tasmania’s cool-climate wine scene, from established icons to emerging producers.
Live music sets the tone for each session, with performances ranging from acoustic sets to crowd favourites. The 2026 headline act will be The Whispering Jack Show, Australia’s leading tribute to John Farnham, bringing a powerful soundtrack of classic anthems to the gardens.
Food plays an equally central role, with a wide range of Tasmanian producers and chefs offering dishes designed to complement the wines on show. Expect local cheeses paired with sparkling wines, freshly shucked oysters with crisp whites, and wood-fired pizzas to match bold reds.
Beyond the wine, the festival includes hand-crafted cocktails, Tasmanian craft beers, and considered non-alcoholic options, ensuring a welcoming experience for all visitors.
Held within one of Hobart’s most picturesque outdoor venues, the Tasmanian Wine Festival offers a thoughtfully designed event with limited capacity across sessions to ensure comfort and space for exploration.
This year’s festival will also contribute to Ronald McDonald House Charities in Tasmania, with $1 from every ticket sold supporting families in need across the state.
