Tasmanian Wine Festival Returns with More Wine, Food & Entertainment

The Tasmanian Wine Festival is back, bringing a vibrant mix of premium wines, gourmet food, and live music to the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens on February 8 & 9, 2025.

This much-loved summer garden party continues to grow, with more vineyards, more local produce, and a stellar entertainment line-up in the heart of Hobart. VIP tickets have already sold out, and general admission is selling fast, so wine lovers are encouraged to book now to secure their place at this celebration of Tasmania’s finest wines.

A Showcase of Tasmanian Wine & Local Producers

The festival brings together vineyards from across Tasmania, giving visitors the chance to meet the makers, discover new favourites, and sample a diverse range of cool-climate wines. Food lovers can indulge in a selection of the state’s best produce, perfectly paired with their wine of choice.

The event also welcomes a host of local businesses supporting Tasmania’s wine industry. MyState Bank cardholders will enjoy priority entry, while KX Pilates Hobart will run a Sunday morning pre-event class in the gardens before joining in for a glass of sparkling.

A Must-Attend Event for Wine Lovers

Established in 2020, the Tasmanian Wine Festival has become a key event for the state’s wine industry, offering an opportunity to showcase the exceptional talent and diversity of Tasmania’s wine regions. This year welcomes new additions like Bird in Hand, PECO Wines, and Bangor, alongside returning favourites such as Derwent Estate, Clover Hill, Pooley, Milton, and Gala Estate.

Suitor from Tamar Valley Wine describes the festival as:
“A fantastic opportunity to bring vineyards from all over Tassie together to celebrate the winemaking talent and incredible diversity of our regions. This is a highlight on the winemaker’s calendar and an event that continues to grow.”

Live Entertainment & Festival Highlights

The festival’s music line-up is bigger than ever, featuring headline act Melbourne Ska Orchestra, a 22-piece powerhouse led by Nicky Bomba (John Butler Trio, Bustamento). Festival favourites Boil Up will bring their signature reggae and big-band vibes, while the Saturday night session (18+) wraps up with a high-energy Daft Punk tribute from Discovery.

The festival will run across three sessions to ensure a relaxed atmosphere in the picturesque Botanical Gardens:

  • Saturday 12pm – 4pm (All Ages, Licensed)

  • Saturday 5:30pm – 10pm (18+ only)

  • Sunday 12pm – 5pm (All Ages, Licensed)

Sustainability at the Festival

Each ticket includes a reusable Tasmanian Wine Festival tumbler, part of the festival’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact. Past attendees can bring their tumbler from previous years and receive a complimentary tasting token, reinforcing the event’s push for sustainability.
