Oceana Bed & Breakfast proudly announces their commitment to environmental sustainability by implementing an innovative strategy for reducing carbon emissions.
With unwavering dedication to fostering a greener future, Oceana B&B has undertaken transformative measures, highlighted by the adoption of a new electric vehicle and the installation of top-tier Electric Vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure for the convenience of its guests.
The cornerstone of this eco-friendly endeavour is the retirement of their previous hybrid vehicle, making way for a brand-new electric vehicle. This move underscores their resolute commitment to minimising their carbon footprint. By transitioning to electric vehicles, they reduce their reliance on traditional fossil fuels and pave the way for a more environmentally responsible and resilient hospitality industry.
Complementing this shift, Oceana B&B has installed cutting-edge EV charging facilities on its premises, ensuring that guests with electric vehicles can easily and conveniently recharge during their stay. Recognising the increasing popularity of electric vehicles and the importance of facilitating their use, these charging stations are designed to enhance the overall experience for our guests while promoting the adoption of sustainable transportation solutions.
This ambitious initiative has been made possible through the invaluable support of the Tasmanian Government’s Tourism Emissions Reduction Grant Program, administered by the Department of State Growth. Oceana B&B is proud to contribute to this program, which is instrumental in supporting Tasmania’s vision to become a premier destination for climate-conscious travel. Oceana B&B’s alignment with the 2030 Visitor Economy Strategy reinforces their commitment to playing an active role in the global pursuit of sustainable tourism practices.
“We are thrilled to announce these significant strides in our carbon emissions reduction strategy,” said Michael at Oceana B&B. “By embracing electric vehicles and providing EV charging facilities for our guests, we are enhancing the overall experience for our visitors and contributing to the collective effort to combat climate change. We extend our gratitude to the Tasmanian Government for their support, and we are excited to play a part in Tasmania’s journey toward a more sustainable and resilient tourism sector.”
