Introducing tap-and-go payments on Hobart City Express
SkyBus is the first visitor experience many people have in Tasmania, and that’s not something we take lightly.
We try to make our service a world-class one every time, and that means constant investment and innovation. Travelling just got easier for passengers using SkyBus’ Hobart Express service with the introduction of tap-and-go contactless payments.
From 3 October, passengers can now jump on a SkyBus service travelling between Hobart Airport and the CBD simply by tapping their bank card or mobile device when boarding.
The new contactless payment system eliminates the need to pre-purchase tickets, making boarding faster and more convenient.
Customers can continue to purchase tickets using existing payment options which include the SkyBus app, website, and e-kiosks.
This new payment system continues our commitment to deliver a great service for Tasmanians and visitors to the state.
Last year we proudly introduced Tasmania’s first two electric buses delivering a ‘green and clean’ welcome and a smoother and quieter customer experience.
