How to work with cruise guide

Tourism Tasmania has produced a guide for Tasmanian tourism and retail businesses looking to offer product to the cruise shipping market.

The guide provides information on how to deliver shore experiences to passengers, who to work with, and how the cruise distribution system works.

The guide also provides information on different cruise lines and their passenger demographics as well as key contacts and useful links.

As part of ensuring a professional approach with cruise visitors in Hobart, Destination Southern Tasmania (DST) has negotiated hawking permits with TasPorts for independent tour operators. This allows businesses to promote and sell their services in a designated area adjacent to the cruise terminal for the 2024/2025 cruise season.

Thank you for your interest in being part of the advertising opportunity at MAC 2 for the upcoming Cruise Season. We have partnered with TasPorts to have your Poster displayed over an approx 7-month period,
commencing 28 October 2024 and ending 25 April 2024 (83 ship arrivals into Hobart, an estimated 225,000 passengers and crew).

2024 – 2025 Season Briefing

The Crown Princess arrives in Hobart on the 28th of October to mark the beginning of the 2024-2025 Cruise Season.

This summer will see around 90 ship arrivals in Hobart and 18 visiting Port Arthur. We want to make sure these guests see the very best that southern Tasmania has to offer and have a fantastic visitor experience.

The September briefing outlined the scope and logistics of the season, as well as introduced the many opportunities to work with and access the cruise sector in Tasmania.
